Visa Credit Card PIN Debit Capability to End

Your existing card will be available ONLY for credit card transactions after August 2005.

Coastal Federal Credit Union has offered the uniqueness of PIN debit capability with its credit
card since the early 1980s. Unfortunately, network changes in the routing of transactions at
non-Coastal owned points of entry (ATM, point of sale and Internet) have forced us to limit functionality to credit transactions.

The bottom line is that we cannot control how foreign network transactions are routed. Transactions meant as debits wind up as credit card cash advances and transactions intended as credit card transactions wind up as debits to member checking accounts. Such inconsistency is not acceptable to our members, thus we have no choice but to make this change.

If your card is affected, you will receive a letter highlighting your options.
