We Protect Your Privacy
Coastal Federal Credit Union's Privacy Pledge
Protecting your privacy is paramount at your Credit Union. Your trust is our
most valuable asset. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about
you to those Credit Union employees who have a specific business purpose in using
your data. We train our employees to respect and maintain your privacy. We maintain
physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with applicable laws
and regulations, and leading industry practices. We do not sell private information
to any third party --not to direct mail firms, telemarketers or to anyone.
We collect only the nonpublic personal information needed to conduct your business
efficiently, at the highest standard of service. In the course of business we
collect the following nonpublic personal information about you:
- Name, address, social security
number and income - from membership and loan applications,
and other forms;
- Account balances, payment history,
credit card usage, credit history - from transactions
with us, companies that work with us to provide your
financial products and services, and from consumer reporting
agencies;
- Information on past employment
and financial transactions obtained when verifying information
you provide on applications and other forms.
We may disclose part or all of the information we collect about
you with nonaffiliated third parties who provide processing
or servicing for your transactions through the Credit Union.
This would include, for example:
- Disclosures in connection with
processing, servicing or maintaining records related
to financial products or services, including credit cards
and loans;
- Disclosures required, or usual
and appropriate to provide confirmations, records, or
information on financial services or products involving
your agents or brokers;
- Disclosures in connection with
the audit of debit, credit or other payment information;
- All disclosures otherwise necessary
to effect, administer or enforce a transaction that you
request or authorize.
We may disclose the information we collect about you to
companies that cooperate with us as part of marketing programs
on our behalf. With regard to any such sharing of information,
the Credit Union will require of any company receiving such
information a contractual agreement that prohibits the service
provider from disclosing or using the information for any
purpose other than carrying out the marketing purposes requested
by the Credit Union.
We may also disclose information we collect about you under other circumstances
as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information
required to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of
our Credit Union, or protect the security of our financial records.
If you decide to terminate your membership or become an inactive member, we
will not share information we have collected about you, except as described
herein.
If you become aware of any data related to the financial information maintained
on you by the Credit Union that you feel are inaccurate, please report your
concerns to us at once. We pledge to assure the accuracy of your financial
information, and to protect its privacy consistent with the trust you have
placed in us. |
