Together, we can make a difference!
Coastal Federal Credit Union was founded on the principle of "people helping people." We take pride in being involved in the communities we serve and are happy to participate each year in numerous charitable events.
We work to improve the lives of our members, their families and their communities by supporting charitable organizations and events that work to:
- Educate Our Youth
- Support Health & Human Services
- Build Communities
- Encourage Arts & Culture
Coastal at Work in Our Community
Scholar Athlete of the Month:
Each month during the school year, Coastal and Sports Radio 850 the Buzz recognize a high school student who stands out in the classroom and on the field. Since the program’s inception, we have honored more than 30 student-athletes, and provided more than $15,000 to local schools. Find out more about our latest honoree.

World Community Grid:
Coastal is the first financial institution in the world to have partnered in World Community Grid. The program harnesses unused processor capabilities from desktop computers and utilizes it as an infrastructure for groundbreaking research projects that will benefit humanitarian issues. Find out how you can join, too.
Youth Financial Education:
We realize the importance of developing good financial habits at an early age. That’s why Coastal offers the High School Financial Planning Program free of charge to schools and youth groups. Learn more.
Communities in Schools:
Volunteers from Coastal dedicate time each week to work as tutor/mentors to students from area schools. By working one-on-one with students in need of extra attention, CIS tutor/mentors help those students to succeed in school and become productive citizens.
United Way:
Each year, Coastal employees participate in the Untied Way Campaign. This year, our employees are generously donating more than $58,000, positioning Coastal as one of the top contributors in North Carolina.
