Coastal
Federal Credit Union was originally chartered as an occupational
credit union that served only the employees of IBM Corporation
and their family members.
But in the early 1980s, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), our
Federal regulatory, began allowing companies and associations unable to support
their own credit unions to join an existing credit union. In the early 1990s,
Coastal began serving companies and associations unable to support their own
credit unions. Coastal now serves the employees of more than 1,000 companies
and associations throughout the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte areas. To verify
